is a very, very fine house, I know...

I've borrowed some money to build a garage and landscape the section.  After this is done I'm thinking of placing it on the market then moving up north to Bay Of Plenty. Since 95 I have wanted to own a backpackers because I really enjoy helping others and the visitors you get staying in these accommodation's are really great people.  May be this is not the right reasons for going into business, but I feel it is the right occupation for me.  I entered my house in the

Horowhenua Post 1945 House Renovation Competition.

Here are the photos I took for it. By the way I was lucky enought to win, not bad for a possum trapper.

Michael, myself and Shane.

Michaels doing what he's good at, watching me work! Be careful of Shane ladies, he's got a big smile and a smooth tongue.

The front of the house before the renovations.

Now after, it's amasing what a coat of paint can do, hey.

The porch, laundary, toilet and bathroom on the north side. Not a clever idea for a southern hemisphere house, but I soon fixed that.

Can you see the only window that survived the renovations on this side of the house, it's the one with the light on.

My beautiful kitchen and dinning room, gee I wish it was always this tidy. If you are interested the floors are polished heart Rimu, a native tree of New Zealand.

When this photo was taken the wall paper wasn't up, but now it's done, just waiting for the curtains to appear. No hurry, Rome wasn't built in a day.

The main bedroom, where all the work is done. You see I have my computer in this room. It's nice in the mornings, to lie in bed and watch the fail tails and white eyes dancing in the native trees I've planted right, looking for their breakfast.
